Multi-Factor Authentication

MFA: A SIMPLE WAY TO ENSURE YOU ARE SECURE
Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is a POWERFUL way to protect yourself and the district. MFA requires you to present two pieces of evidence when logging in. An example of this is when online banking asks you to enter a code from text for authentication. That’s MFA! The system is simply validating that you are who you say you are and not a cybercriminal that may have stolen your password.
It’s as easy as 1-2-3! This 43 second video is a great demo!
MultiFactor Authentication using DUO
What are the benefits of MultiFactor Authentication?
With MFA enabled, knowing or cracking the password won’t be enough to gain access, which is why MFA can block over 99.9 percent of account compromise attacks.
When logging in to an application that is protected by Duo, you will still enter your username and password. After inputting your login information, Duo requires you to complete a method of second-factor authentication. Duo does not replace or require you to change your username and password. Think of Duo as a layer of security added to your pre-existing login method.
